This is my 10th season coaching with Orono. Previously, I coached for 24 years with Minnetonka High School's soccer program & coached their alpine ski team for 18 years. This will be my 30th year coaching in total. In my past growing up, I was very active in many sports & continue to be active in golf, softball & ski racing. I graduated from the U of MN & raced on the ski team also while leading the team as Captain & President of our club. I continued to ski race after graduation with the USSA Masters Rocky & Central teams and gained much of my knowledge through my experiences in all 4 alpine disciplines competing in Masters Nationals & Internationals attaining the overall Champion in DH, SG, SL & Combined for many years competing. I have a BS degree in Kinesiology & a Minor in Coaching as well as my USSA Level 1 Coaching Certificate. My goal of coaching at the high school level is to help each athlete improve, to be the best they can be and to (most of all) have a fun, enjoyable experience that will last a lifetime. If i'm not on the slopes, you'll find me on the links golfing or somewhere showing & selling homes as a Realtor for Keller Williams.
Alpine skiing for 51 years.
: 40+ years of ski racing experience
: Started the Maple Grove HS ski team and developed the program
: HS ski coach for 8 years
: Parent of 2 HS alpine racers, both competed at state ski race twice
: I’ve traveling extensively and, pretty much, experienced everything there is to experience on a pair of skis.
I understand what it's like to be a racer, parent, coach, and team administrator. I’ll bring that experience and compassion to the team.
Plus, I’m faster than both Heidi and Pat!
I have ski raced my entire life starting my race journey at the age of 4. I raced at Buck Hill under Erich Sailer for 8 years, learning all there is about the fundamentals of ski racing.
Throughout my time at Buck Hill I went to the junior nationals 3 times. In high school I skied for Minnetonka where we went to state all 4 years, my senior year I was captain.
After high school, I raced for the St. Olaf Alpine Team all 4 years of college. I graduated in 2021 with a psychology and neuroscience degree.
Currently I am back at school getting my nursing degree and I couldn’t be more excited to get my feet back into the ski racing world again.
This is my 6th season as an assistant coach to OAST. I graduated from OHS in 2007 where I raced for 4 years and served as captain my senior year. I went on to ski for the University of Minnesota Duluth where we placed 3rd in the 2011 USCSA National Championships in Sun Valley, ID. I graduated from UMD with a structural engineering degree and have been a licensed engineer for 9 years. In my free time, I am a pilot for the Air Force Reserve out of Minneapolis. I look forward to another fantastic ski season, GO SPARTANS
P.S. Fight jet pilot, Ben is pretty impressive, right?!
